And on that day, says the LORD of Heaven's Armies, each of you will invite your neighbor to sit with you under your own vine and fig tree." Zechariah 3:10
There was a time during King Solomon’s rule that families enjoyed life together under their own Vine and Fig Tree (1 Kings 4:25).  The Vine and the Fig are symbols of safety, peace, and prosperity.  The Jews called it Shalom and Saint John called it eternal life.

Other prophets spoke about a future where each family, with their neighbor, could enjoy sitting under their Vine and Fig tree (Zechariah 3: 10; Micah 4;4).

The Vine and the Fig are symbols for the Christian which declare that this future is NOW in Jesus Christ.  Every believer can rest under the Vine and Fig tree even Now!

Here is what Life Under the Vine looks like for a Christian.

For the Kingdom of God is … righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit Romans 4:17

We have freedom!  We can say no to sin. We can resist temptations. We are longer slaves to old destructive thoughts and habits.  I know we live in a time when sin supposedly does not exist.  Yet, so many are living under shame, guilt, and regret because of past decisions.  Life Under the Vine frees us from this baggage. We can rest in God’s acceptance and power for a new life! The cycle of sin and repent over the same sins can be broken.
We have joy!  Joy is the force allowing us to wipe off  the puke and puss of this world.  Let me explain. Joy does not come because of what is outside.  Joy exists because of how we see our life from the inside.  Most people react to life. God’s Spirit in you allows you to pro-act!  You impact the people and situations around you.  Those around you grow and excel.  You become a life force – a giver and not a taker. You change the working and home climate. You are no longer a victim.

We have peace! Peace is the ability to live from what you believe instead of what you see!  We walk by faith and not by sight!  We live by truth instead of circumstances and conditions.

Asking God for Nations

God intends to give to the body of Jesus nations!
I was in Africa in 2013 serving the US Soldiers that were spread throughout the Horn of East Africa.  While I was preparing to arrive, the US embassy in Libya was overrun and our Ambassador murdered by terrorist.  Unrest was everywhere in the Horn – we were present for a reason.

I traveled into several nations conducting worship services for troops and assisting leaders with Soldiers.  I made it my routine to walk and pray the perimeter of the operating base where I had arrived.  I found myself praying Psalm 2:8, “Ask of me and I will give you the Nations.”

Yes, I began to pray for nations. I know it sounds bold and almost braggadocios.  Psalm 2 is a Messianic Psalm, in that it finds fulfillment in Jesus’ ministry – this I know; Christ will inherit the nations.  Yet, we are joint-heirs and co-labors together with God.  God intends to give to the body of Jesus nations!  The farmer understands co-laboring because it takes God and a farmer for the earth to produce a crop!  God and the Body of Jesus will produce a crop in the nations of the earth.  So, I am asking God for nations.

It was while walking the perimeter of these bases and praying for Yemen, Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia... that God began to impart this vision “Prepare the Nations for Jesus’ Return.” This is where the name of our ministry comes from – Prepare the Nations Embassy. As I walked those fences and prayed, I began to feel God’s desire to send Ambassadors into the earth to prepare for Christ return.  God began to deposit His heart into my heart.  I have more share but as we say in the Army, "More to Follow!"
